Go Daddy - Web Hosting Review
Go Daddy was founded in 1997 and was an instant success largely due to their famous super bowl commercials and high profile company mascots. Go Daddy offers both hosting and domain name registration at a low cost. 11 years going strong and Go Daddy now has the highest number of domain registrations in the world and their hosting customers aren't too far behind either.
Price:
Go Daddy is on the pricier side as far as web hosting providers go, but that is due to their national branding and recognization allowing them to charge more.
Summary:
Go Daddy has good support and reasonable pricing. However you may want to shop around first as Go Daddy's control panel isn't the easiest to use. Either way they must be doing something as they are one of the biggest hosting companies in the US.
Reliability:
Go Daddy has suffered a lot of bad publicity over the previous years in regards to their poor uptime. However things seem to be picking up and we found them much more reliable as of late. It seems Go Daddy has gotten things back on track and users, including ourselves, are starting to see a notable difference.
Customer Support:
Go Daddy's support is usually quick and responsive and should have your concerns answered reasonably fast for a company with such a large customer base. You should avoid calling at peak times where wait times can be as long as 10 to 15 minutes but, with 24/7 email and telephone support, you shouldn't have a problem getting the help and advice you need.
Features:
All Go Daddy accounts include instant setup like Just Host, Google Webmaster Tools, free Adword credits and more. Their hosting services are designed to cater to everyone from personal users with low requirements to high end users needing huge amounts of disk space and bandwidth to run their websites and businesses.
Control Panel:
Go Daddy has developed their own control panel which is relatively easy to use once you have mastered it. If you are used to cPanel this can take some time though. Unlike other web hosting providers Go Daddy's control panel is designed to cater to the entire range of services they offer. Instead of specializing on hosting they've tried to create something far too complex resulting in a messy control panel for their user!
